The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday morning.
The Board approved the final consideration of a resolution declaring emergency medical services as an essential service in the county, along with serving as the fiscal agent of the Guthrie County First Responders after hearing from County Health Services Director Jotham Arber. They also heard from Summit Carbon Solutions Project Manager Brent Niese, then approved supporting the Iowa State Association of Counties in the Case of Couser v. Shelby County.
The Board canceled their November 4th meeting due to it being election day, and moved the November 11th meeting to November 12th, still to begin at 9am. In the update from Niese, he shared that Summit Carbon Solutions would be holding open houses on November 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th in different locations, and Supervisor Chair Maggie Armstrong and Supervisors Mike Dickson asked that the company reconsider locations to also have an open house close to Guthrie County. Niese also shared that the company had amended some pieces of their original plan, and updated their mission statement.
