West Central Valley Basketball players Macy Long, Addilyn Richter, and Ella Belden will be apart of tonight’s Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Magazine to highlight their high school careers.

The Wildcats are 1-2 on the year so far, with losses to Creston 37-36 and AC/GC 58-20, then recently picked up their first victory on Friday against the Ogden Bulldogs 38-16. Junior Ella Belden is reminding the underclassmen to keep their spirits high throughout the season.

“To make sure you have fun while you’re playing because sometimes it can get pretty serious and it’s just good to remember to have fun.”

Richter knows that she can rely on her family’s support at any time.

“And I’m very thankful for that. They always just want me to push myself and do the best, and even if I don’t play (in) the game, they’re always just there for me, and just comforting me.”

Long details that her coaches have taught her how to be a total dynamic threat from anywhere on the floor.

“Being an all-around player. I started as a post (player), but then in years past, I played guard. I just know every position.”

The next game for West Central Valley will be on Tuesday, taking on Des Moines Christian on the road at 6pm. The full interview with Belden, Richter, and Long can be heard tonight on the Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Magazine on K107.9 KKRF, starting around 6pm. The show will feature segments from AC/GC and Panorama High Schools.
