The Greene County Community Theatre is putting on a two-person play this weekend.

GCCT President Josh Tuel is directing “Birds of North America” by Anna Moench and it is about John, who is the father and played by Darren Jackson; and Caitlyn, the daughter who is played by Grace Hardaway, as they evolve their relationship over several years through their shared interest of bird watching. 

Tuel details that this show really highlights the art of acting, with very little scene changes and minimal action. He states that Jackson and Hardaway use their words and non-verbal acting to bring real life moments and reactions that shape our everyday lives, even as relationships change and evolve over time. 

Tuel points out that doing a two-person performance is also a double-edged sword, in that there is a minimal cast to direct, but you have to find the right people for those roles, which he believes he has with Jackson and Hardaway. 

The showtimes are 7pm this Friday and Saturday and 2pm on Sunday at the Greene County High School auditorium. The admission is a free-will donation to help with future shows and productions.
