A Redfield man was recently arrested for an alleged incident in Adel.
According to court documents, an Adel Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on March 30 in the 200 block of S 18th Street for expired registration. Court records show the officer asked Steven Greenslade to exit the vehicle after learning his driving status was revoked. The documents add that when he exited the vehicle, the officer observed a marijuana pipe in plain sight on the driver’s seat.
The criminal complaint states that the assisting officer found a methamphetamine pipe on Greenslade and a probable cause search was conducted. Officers then transported him to the Dallas County Jail.
Court documents show that jail staff located a small plastic wrapper with a crystal-like substance on the ground as Greenslade walked from the pre-booking area to the main intake area.
The affidavit states that the officer secured the evidence and conducted a field test using a Narcotic Analysis Reagent Kit at the Adel Police Department. Court documents show that the test yielded a positive test for methamphetamine.
Greenslade was arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for introducing intoxicants or drugs into an institution. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance – second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor and driving while license denied or revoked, a serious misdemeanor.
Greenslade was booked into the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
