
The unofficial results are in for the June Primary Election in Dallas County.
There were four contested races for the Dallas County Board of Supervisors, while Republican Julia Helm was unopposed in District 2.
Republican Robert Greenway was the victor over Sumit Ashvin Patel in District 1, earning 67% of the votes. Greenway will face Democrat Jason Benell in November.
Democrat Patricia Tice defeated Michael Kern in District 3, with 60% of the votes. Tice will face Republican incumbent Kim Chapman in November.
Republican Lance Farrell won against Marsha Bannister in District 4, earning 70% of the votes. Farrell will face Democrat Ben Nizzi in November.
Unofficial results show that Republican Dave Roszak narrowly defeated Oliver Bardwell in District 5, earning 3,323 votes to Bardwell’s 3,237. The winner of the race will face Democrat Julia Bautista in November.
There were no contested races for the County Attorney, Treasurer and Recorder, with incumbents Matt Schultz, Summer Portzen and ReNae Arnold running for those respective positions.
At the state level, there were five Republican candidates running for governor. Zach Lahn won Dallas County with 39% of the votes, though Randy Feenstra wasn’t too far behind with 30% of the votes.
As for the federal side, Josh Turek will be the Democratic candidate running to fill Senator Joni Ernst’s open seat. He won Dallas County with 62% of the vote over Zach Wahls. Turek will face Ashley Hinson in November. Hinson won Dallas County with 77% of the votes over Jim Carlin.
These election results are unofficial until the Dallas County Board of Supervisors conducts its canvass of votes at their next meeting on Tuesday.
