It’s Class 2A District 4 baseball for Greene County tonight in Story City vs 34-3 Roland-Story with the winner advancing to the semifinals while the losing team will have its season come to an end. The Norsemen and Saydel (Des Moines) both were 15-1 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play and shared the league title while the Rams were 2-14 in conference games and are now 4-17 overall after a first round win on Friday to open the postseason in Ogden by a final of 8-5 vs. South Central Calhoun (Lake City).

R-S downed the Rams 10-0 in six innings by the 10 run rule and 6-0 in the two meetings between the two. Greene County totaled four hits, all singles, in those games combined. The Norsemen are number 4 in Class 2A by the Power Index while the Rams are 80th among the 96 2A teams.

Tonight’s game is the second of a doubleheader at Story City as Ogden and Interstate 35 (Truro) play at 5 p.m. with the Norsemen and Rams set to start about 30 minutes after the end of game one. The R-S vs. Greene County game will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
