Tomorrow the Adair County Fair truly begins for 2026.
Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that things start off with livestock being brought to the fairgrounds and undergoing inspections and weigh-ins starting at 7am, and wrapping up at noon. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that from noon to 3pm at the Varied Industries Building there will be a quilt show, with the dog show to occur at the MidAmerican Arena at 1pm, followed by the dog parent showmanship.
Savage shares that there will be entrance performances for swine, lamb and goats, followed by the Clover Kids rabbit/cavy Show at 3:30pm and 4-H/FFA rabbit/cavy show at 4pm, with the rabbit parent showmanship performance to follow. She adds that there will be a local talent night at the gazebo from 5-8pm, with inflatable rides/festivities in the Midway for $1 from 5-11pm, and a free BBQ hamburger/pork burger meal provided by the Adair County Fair Board and ice cream social hosted by the historical society beginning at 6pm. 7:00 am – 8:00 am Enter Rabbits – West end of Dairy Barn Rabbits will go directly to the barn
and will be inspected by a veterinarian upon arrival.

8:30 am – 10:00 am Weigh lead market beef, followed by junior feeder pen cattle

11:00 am – 12:00 pm Weigh Sheep
