The West Central Valley Baseball Team will be participating in the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 2A Substate 6 second game tonight in Van Meter, as the Wildcats will battle the Bulldogs.

Van Meter earned a first-round bye, while West Central Valley beat Nodaway Valley 5-3 on Friday in Stuart. The Bulldogs are 18-14 on the season, as the Wildcats are 9-19 overall. Van Meter senior Austin Strong has 46 hits, 30 RBIs, and has scored 31 runs, while junior Daniel Wiebelhaus has pitched in 27 innings and has racked up 42 strikeouts.

West Central Valley junior Colton Lindsay has 26 hits, with nine RBIs, and 29 runs scored, while pitching in 43 ⅓ innings, with an Earned Run Average of 2.10. Since 2007, the Bulldogs lead the historical series 35-2 over the Wildcats. The game tonight will be held at Van Meter High School, starting at 7pm.
