The West Central Valley Baseball Team participated in the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 2A Substate 6 Second Round game versus Van Meter on the road on Tuesday, as the Wildcats were defeated 10-0 by the Bulldogs to conclude the 2026 season.

Van Meter captured two runs in each the first and second innings, followed by another four in the third to quickly develop a 8-0 advantage over West Central Valley. The Bulldogs tallied two additional runs in the bottom of the fifth to win the contest 10-0 in five innings. 

Wildcat starting pitcher was sophomore Tryce Dlouhy, who went 1 ⅓ innings, allowing four hits, four runs, and garnering three strikeouts. Junior Colton Lindsay was the relieving pitcher, finishing 2 ⅔ innings, giving up 10 hits, six runs, and struck out three batters.

West Central Valley ends the season with a record of 9-20, while Van Meter improves to 19-14 overall and will take on PCM Saturday night. The Wildcats have a promising future, as Jarel Madison is the lone senior graduating from the baseball program.
