The newly announced Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Track and Field Head Coach Sara Schwertfeger has set two new records within the United States.

Schwertfeger recently participated in the USA Track and Field Masters Outdoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio in mid-July, where she ran in the open 800 Meters and 400 Meter Hurdles. The races were split in different age categories, as Schwertfeger was in the 40-44 division. In the 800, not only did she run a personal record, but a new American record of 2:04.84, and won the field by over 20 seconds.

Following that, Schwertfeger also ran in the open 400 Meter Hurdles and nabbed another American record of 1:02.52 to be the leader in that category as well. Schwertfeger will be taking over the ADM Girls Track and Field Head Coaching position this upcoming spring, after Bart Mueller’s retirement this past season.
