Greene County head football coach Caden Duncan is one of the guests tonight at 6 o’clock on the PM Sports Magazine KG98 Edition. He liked several things about the Rams’ season opening loss in Jefferson to Boone by a 14-7 loss last Friday. Finishing offensive drives is not among those things, however, as the Rams were 0-5 on fourth down plays vs. the Toreadors, a huge factor in a single possession loss. With that in mind, the players and coaches are focused on finishing offensive drives with points when they play on the road this Friday in Woodward vs. Woodward-Granger.

Greene County offensive drives ended on fourth down at Boone’s 15, 20, and 21 yard lines, with potential points not being scored. The lone touchdown scored by the Rams was a four yard touchdown pass from quarterback Zack Stalder to Jaron Jacobs, and it capped a four play, 26 yard drive following Boone’s only turnover, a lost fumble. Coach Duncan said he hopes being in a tight game in week one will pay off the rest of the season and the team learns from the areas they came up short in.

Defensively, the Rams allowed all 14 points and the great majority of Boone’s 205 yards of offense in the first half. The defensive effort kept the Rams close until time ran out.
