Monday afternoon a candidate for Iowa Governor made a stop in Guthrie and Adair Counties.

Democrat Rob Sand first stopped in Guthrie County for a town hall, where around 150 people came to hear from him. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio what one of his goals is should he be elected governor.

“I think that giving people only two options on their ballot is more about controlling them than it is about listening to them. And if we can fix that, then I think we’re going to get a lot of problem solving on all kinds of other problems.”

Sand mentions that some of those other issues that need worked on include education, water quality, and cancer rates. During the town hall, he covered topics that included Vision Iowa, funding for summer food programs, and healthcare. Sand then visited Adair County for a town hall in Greenfield later in the afternoon.
