Tomorrow will be a special celebration event for a historic building on the downtown square in Jefferson.
The all female organization of Why Not Us is hosting a program at 4pm at their building, the Centennial Block, which is 150 years old this year. Organizers say the program, “If These Walls Could Talk” will feature re-enactors bringing to life guests and businesses of the past who had a direct impact on the 1876 structure. The building currently houses The Centennial Cafe, owned and operated by Bailey Porter, and there are two upper story apartments.
Why Not Us points out that following all of the historical presentations will be the placement of a time capsule that will create a new piece of history for future generations. Organizers invite anyone else you may have a connection to The Centennial to share that by clicking here.
