The Community Players of Greene County have announced their fall production.
Board President John Schoening tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they will be performing “Our Town” by Thorton Wilder. It is the story of an American small town, Grover’s Corner, between 1901 and 1913 through the lives of its citizens.
Schoening says they originally wanted to do “Annie” but because it is still on tour and will be coming to Stephens Auditorium in Ames next year, they were unable to get the rights to do it.
Tentative performance dates are November 11th and 12th at the Greene County High School auditorium. Josh Tuel is slated to be the director. Since coming back to Greene County, Tuel has previously directed for the Players, William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” and “Pools Paradise” by Philip King.
Schoening adds that Tuel is in the cast of “Tuesdays With Morrie” with the Hawkeye Community Theatre in Fort Dodge. Once he is finished with that production, he will get started on The Players fall production. Auction dates and times haven’t been scheduled yet.
