The Raccoon River Conference was on full display yesterday with the annual coed conference meet held at Winterset high school.
On the girls side ADM and Carlisle had been vying for the top two spots all season long and it was exactly the case at the conference meet. Unfortunately the top spot would go to Carlisle who took the crown with 174 points followed by ADM in second with 140 and Boone in third with 93 points. Carlisle would end up sweeping the conference as the Wildcat boys would also grab the top spot spotting a 149 on the day. Boone would take second while Perry would round out the top three in third. ADM would fall into a tie for 5th place with Bondurant-Farrar sporting 60 points each.
Keaton Kester was the top points scorer for the ADM girls defending her top spot in both the 100 and 200 meter dash events. Kester managed to improve upon her already great time in the 100 clocking in first with 12.17 seconds. In the 200 she clocked in with a first place time of 25.01 seconds. None of ADM’s relay events finished below third highlighted by first place finishes in the 4 x 400 with 4:12.85 and the 4 x 100 with 51.02 seconds. Other notable performers included Sadie Juergens with two second place finishes, one in the 800 (2:28.93) and the other in the 3000 (11:33.08).
The Tiger boys would take one event on the day doing so in the 4 x 200 with the team of Kade Barcus, Austin Flora, David Howard, and Trey Volz clocking in with a time of 1:34.06. Individually Mason Warmuth led the meet for ADM after placing second in the discuss at 134′-09″. Mason also tossed 41′-06″ in the shot put good enough for third place. Other notable performances included Jacob West’s second place finish in the high jump at 6′-00″ not to mention Reece McLaughlin snagging fourth in the long jump with 20′-04.50″.
Next on the docket brings a pair of district meets on Thursday.
