Friday, October 19th
4:11am: Sparky’s One Stop reported a Gas Drive Off from 606 Hwy. 30 East. The officer was given a plate number on the vehicle. He made contact with the female driver, who settled the debt with the business.
1:51pm: Noah Exline reported what he believed to be Harassment on Face Book. The officer advised it was not harassment and advised him to close his Social Media Account.
2:10pm: Peg Jacobs reported receiving a Scam Phone Call. She did not incur a loss.
3:35pm: An officer checked on an Alarm Activation at 401 South Wilson Ave. A subject was present, who had accidentally tripped the system.
4:13pm: A Traffic Stop in the 800 Block of West 220th Street resulted in Preston Perin being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”
4:22pm: Neil Kegley requested assistance with his 15-year-old special needs son refusing to exit the school van at 101 West Vest Street. The officer assisted with removing the child from the van.
5:45pm: Ron Grimsley reported juveniles on a golf cart driving through his yard at 504 East Adams Street. The officer located the cart and spoke to 3 juveniles about the issue. There was no damage caused to Grimsley’s property.
6:10pm: John Reed reported a Barking Dog in the 500 Block of West Harrison Street. The officer did not locate the animal.
6:38pm: The Spare Time Lanes reported a container of an unknown liquid by their dumpster in the 100 Block of North Chestnut Street. The officer could not locate anything out of the ordinary in the area.
11:04pm: An officer secured the building at 600 East Lincoln Way Street, after locating an Open Door.
Saturday, October 20th
6:38am: A caller advised of a traffic cone in the roadway near Elm and Russell Streets. The officer removed the obstruction from the roadway.
12:12pm: Officers and Jefferson Fire assisted Greene County EMS with a Medical Call in the 500 Block of North Maple Street.
2:06pm: A Traffic Stop in the 700 Block of West State Street resulted in Tamara Espinoza of Fort Dodge being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”
4:55pm: A Traffic Stop in the 300 Block of North Pinet Street resulted in Mickalyn Sanders of Grand Junction being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”
8:55pm: The Wild Rose Casino spoke with an officer concerning a male subject at the casino, who may be wanted. The office confirmed the male had an Outstanding Parole Violation Warrant out of Story County. Officers arrested Anthony Herbert Smith, 40 of Des Moines, on the outstanding warrant.
9:57pm: Lisa Baack advised officers she had been Assaulted by a known female at the Wild Rose Casino, located at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer photographed injuries from the reported event and is gathering a County Attorney Subpoena to obtain video of the event. Charges are pending.
9:40pm: Dustin Evans reported smoke in the area on the 500 Block of West Mahlon Street. The officers did not locate the source of the smoke.
Sunday, October 21st
12:03am: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Lincoln Way Streets resulted in Evan Owen of West Des Moines being cited for, “failure to Obey Stop Sign.”
1:07am: Kurt Meinecke reported Loud Music in the area of the 700 Block of North Cedar Street. The officer went to the area and shut his vehicle down for several minutes. He did not hear anything in the area.
8:51am: An officer delivered a Death Notification to a Jefferson resident.
10:34am: Liz Lucht reported her son had a Lost/Stolen Wallet in Jefferson.
10:55am: The White Oak Station, located at 303 North Elm Street, reported subjects arrived and advised an employee they were buying the building and were allowed to canvas the business. They later learned the building is not for sale. Nothing was taken during the reported event.
3:21pm: A caller advised of a semi and trailer blocking the roadway near Elm and Lincoln Way Streets. The officer made contact with the driver and learned of mechanical problems with the semi. Durbin Towing was contacted. The semi was removed a short time later.
3:22pm: Bruce Binkley reported locating a bottle of gasoline with a rag stuck in the top in the 800 Block of North Wilson Ave. It is unknown how long the bottle had been there before being discovered.
5:15pm: A Traffic Stop in the 800 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Tracy Burgart of Jefferson being cited for, “Use of Electronic Device While Driving.”
7:12pm: A Traffic Stop in the 800 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Mitch Stream of Churdan being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”
8:36pm: Todd Broman requested a Welfare Check on a family member in the 400 Block of Sundown Court. The officer made contact with the subject, who was fine.
8:40pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and 250th Street resulted in Ryan Mobley of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
