
The Jefferson Police have filed even more charges on the woman who forced a lockdown at Greene County Middle School.
According to the department, 36-year-old Jessica Jo Peterson is additionally charged with a Class D Felony for third-degree burglary and a simple misdemeanor for fifth-degree theft. The charges stem from an investigation that began on Sunday, December 8th. Peterson took items from a common area of the Walton Woods Community Center at 1000 West Adams Street. Officers found the interior office door of the facility was damaged in the alleged burglary.
Peterson also faces charges of an aggravated misdemeanor for third-degree burglary, a serious misdemeanor for unlawful possession of prescription drugs and a simple misdemeanor for fifth-degree theft. The charges stem from when Peterson entered middle school, before the school day started, Monday morning and took items from a locker room. She then tried to re-enter the building, the building was then placed in a lockdown.
Peterson then entered the administrative building and was later arrested there. Evidence from both incidents were recovered from Peterson. Peterson was booked and later released from the Greene County Jail on her own recognizance. The new charges have been filed and arrest warrants have been requested.
