
The Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area saw a slight uptick in unemployment in the last month of 2021.
According to Iowa Workforce Development, Guthrie County saw an increase in the percentage of those without a job in December to 3.1-percent, a 0.3-percent bump from November. Greene and Dallas counties each saw a 0.2-percent increase in unemployment from November to December of 2.2 and two-percent, respectively.
All three counties are still doing better than the state’s percentage. Iowa Workforce Development reports that Iowa’s unemployment from November to December decreased by 0.2-percent to 3.5-percent. The national unemployment rate for December was 3.9-percent, which was a 0.3-percent drop from November.
