A food safety program is happening with the Dallas County Iowa State University Extension Office in November, but registration closes today.

According to Marketing Manager Sarah Wood, the organization is hosting a ServSafe Certified Food Protection Course on a few different dates in November in Perry. She describes that two versions of the course will be offered, both in English and Spanish. Wood elaborates more on what the program will provide.

“This is a certification for restaurant management and restaurant tours, and basically is for best practices in safe food handling, but the certification is a state requirement, so this is a great opportunity for people in the restaurant industry to utilize this training.”

Wood outlines that the English version of the program will take place on Tuesday, November 4th from 9am-6pm, then the second will follow on Friday, November 7th from 9am-5pm, and both trainings will happen at the Learning Center, 1122 Willis Avenue, at the Town Craft Gallery in Perry. She concludes that the registration deadline is today, which the link to signup can be found by clicking here.
