Tomorrow is a special program at the Historical Museum in Jefferson.
According to the Greene County Historical Society, Grand Junction Library Director Alan Robinson will be presenting a program on the history of Spring Lake Park, as the recreation location celebrates its 100th birthday this year. The program will include how the park was first a railroad gravel pit that was turned into a privately-owned resort and amusement park in 1925. Then in 1949, Spring Lake Park became an Iowa state park, before being handed over to the Greene County Conservation Department, and has been with, since 1969.
Tomorrow’s program will be at 2pm and it is free and open to the public.
