The Iowa High School Music Association All-State Band and Choir Auditions were held this past Saturday, as 12 students between Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High Schools were selected to the All-State Music Festival.

Both Perry and ADM were at Atlantic High School for the All-State Auditions, and Perry Band Director Blaine Schmidt shares that Isaiah Christensen is the only student heading to the All-State Music Festival in the Trombone category.

According to ADM Choral Director Daniel Novotney, Avery Garrity (Soprano), Addison Caltrider (Alto), Dawson Foster (Tenor), and Cade Huskey (Bass) qualified for All-State. In addition, ADM Band Director Russell Braun reveals that Amanda Gustafson (Clarinet), Clara Uthe (Clarinet), Owen Horgan (Trumpet), Chase Cline (Tuba), Meredith Maddy (Trumpet Alternate), Sariah Scott (Flute), and Eden Sedars (Flute Alternate) will be going to All-State. He adds that Gustafson is the only returning All-Stater.

The All-State Music Festival is taking place November 20th-22nd at Hilton Coliseum at Iowa State University in Ames.
