A barn in Dallas County suffers burn damages after a fire broke out Friday evening.

According to Perry Fire Chief Grason Hill, the barn, which is located south of Dawson, caught fire after the home owners were burning trash shortly before 6pm. He elaborates telling Raccoon Valley Radio that the wind pushed the fire into a nearby corn crib that ignited a fire on the barn.

Hill says the crews mitigated the fire then left, but a little after 9pm the fire reignited sending the Perry Fire Department back out to continue to put it out again. The barn is considered a total loss. Other departments that assisted on scene were the Yale Fire Department, Jamaica Fire Department, Bagley Fire Department, and Panora Fire Department.

Raccoon Valley Radio will bring more information as it becomes available.
