The Jefferson City Council met in regular session this week.

At the meeting the council further discussed replacing extra portions of concrete on the downtown intersections as part of the rehabilitation project.

Mayor Craig Berry says they also moved forward on two properties that are part of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

The City will purchase property at 705 West Adams – the building will be completely tore down.  Property at 500 South Maple will also be purchased by the City and the Council has yet to decide if they will rehabilitate the home or tear it down.  The matter is expected to be discussed at a future council meeting.

The Council also approved the second reading of an ordinance that will change the City’s water, sewer and garbage rates.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday June 26th.
