The Iowa Sex Offender Registry has issued a public notification for residents in Perry.
Citizens are to be informed that Lawrence Dale Spidle of 1301Otley in Perry is a registered sex offender. The registration is the result of a 1997 conviction of statutory rape in the 1st degree in Missouri.
According to Iowa law, the criminal and juvenile justice agency has the authorization to notify communities about a person who was required to register as a sex offender in order to protect the public.
Such notifications aim to serve only as a warning to the public to protect themselves. Any action taken against this person, including vandalism of property, verbal or written threats of physical harm or assault against them or their families can result in arrest and prosecution.
