The Greene County Master Gardeners invite everyone to join them on a guided tour of the Brenton Arboretum next month.
The arboretum near Dallas Center combines the horticultural study of trees with a commitment to natural landscape management and conservation. The tour will allow participants to either walk or ride along as they study 2,000 trees, a native prairie, wetlands, a lake, pond and streams.
The group will meet at the Greene County Extension Office at 8:30am Saturday July 7th. After the tour the group will have lunch at Harvest Moon in Dallas Center, followed b stops at The Baker’s Pantry, Harvey’s Greenhouse, Steburg’s Nursery and the Panorama Gardens.
The cost to attend is $10, which includes transportation and a donation to the Arboretum. Lunch is not included. To register call the Extension Office at 386-2138 and for more information contact Joan Conroy at 386-2530.
