July 30 thru 31, 2012
07/30 At 8:51 am, a deputy investigated criminal mischief to the license plate of a vehicle in Churdan
At 9:20 am, the sheriff received old ammunition for disposal from a rural Paton resident
At 10:41 am, the sheriff assisted the St Charles, IL police with a theft by deception case involving a victim in Scranton who had delivered new goods to a subject in the Chicago area who had falsely ordered them under another’s name
At 12:34 pm, a deputy assisted with a committal subject who was later transferred to the Iowa City Hospitals
At 3:15 pm, Tara A. Leonard, 34, of Grand Junction was booked into the county jail after turning herself in on a warrant for Domestic Abuse-Assault, charge filed by a deputy in connection with a dispute on 07/23 in Grand Junction, she was booked and later released O/R by the magistrate
At 4:35 pm, a deputy conducted a welfare check in Grand Junction after a report of a lot of yelling and screaming coming from a residence but the deputy could not locate any disturbance
At 7:08 pm, a deputy investigated the report that a horse was possibly grazed by a bullet in the 1200 Block of I Avenue
At 7:45 pm, a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in Grand Junction involving texting
At 10:18 pm, a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in Scranton involving texting
07/31 At 9:34 am, a deputy conducted a welfare check in Rippey on an elderly subject neighbors were worried about, subject was found to be all right except for being lonely
At 10:25 am, deputies executed a search warrant at 340 C Avenue relating to the theft of a calf reported on 07/27. Deputies recovered a GPS unit that had been stolen out of a vehicle and determined that the calf had been sold, the case remains under investigation
At 1:40 pm, Andrew L. Anderson, 24, of Panora was booked into the county jail after an arrest by the sheriff on a warrant for Violation of a Protective Order, charge was filed by a deputy in connection with an investigation from 11/00, subject has been stationed out of state with the military, he was booked and released O/R per magistrate
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
