The no tax weekend is coming up this Friday and Saturday.

The annual event helps shoppers get prepared for the upcoming school year without having to pay sales tax on shoes and clothing.

Lonnie Ostranski, store manager of the Perry Alco, says he typically doesn’t see a huge influx in activity during the tax free weekend.

Nonetheless, Perry Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Wilson encourages shoppers to take advantage of this opportunity.
