Law enforcement is looking for the public’s help to identify a man involved in the attempted abduction of two young boys in Grimes Sunday.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, two juvenile males – ages 3 and 11 years old were approached by a man near the area of West 1st Street and Northwest Calista Court around 1:20pm Sunday.  The man was driving a black Ford F150 truck and reportedly told the boys to get into his truck and he would help them find their mother.  The boys refused and ran into the public library, while the truck continued east on 1st Street.
The man is described as a bald, white male, between the ages of 50 and 60 years old.  He has crooked teeth, a brown circular spot above his left eye and was wearing a black t-shirt.  His truck is believed to be a newer model, 2-door extended cab Ford F150 with black rims, a silver bumper and “4X4” printed on the back side of the pick-up bed.
Any one with information is asked to call the Polk County Crime Stoppers at 223-1400 or the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 286-3333.  As a reminder, anyone who sees suspicious activity is always urged to notify your local law enforcement agency with as many details as possible.
