A Guthrie County hotel has been awarded a grant from the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.

AI Properties LLC has received a $4,000 grant to hire a professional historian to research and write the application for placing the Hotel Stuart on the National Register of Historic Places.

The DCA awarded 33 Resource Enhancement and Protection Act and Historical Resource Development Program grants recently, totaling $489,000.  Each of the grant awards require matching funds.
