Construction projects continue to make progress in Jefferson.

City Administrator Mike Palmer says the bridge deck has been completed and once the final 70 feet of the south approach is installed the entire “mainline” paving will be complete, allowing construction traffic to lessen their use of the side streets.

During the next month, the barrier walls that separate both sides of the walkway will be constructed.  The installation of the sidewalks on the inside of the square is nearly complete, and permanent light poles have been installed at each intersection.

Palmer says this should help the public started to see what the finished product should look like. He says each corner of the four intersections will then have double globe light poles place on the concrete column bases that are then surrounded by brick veneer.
