The Stuart City Council met in special session Monday evening.

At the meeting the council tabled an agenda item to set a hearing date and call for bids for the Wambold addition project.

After no comments during a public hearing in regards to sale of the Old Hotel, the council unanimously voted to sell the building to Ai Properties, LLC.

The Council then set a public hearing date of September 10th at 6:30pm for the 2012 Street Improvement Project, appointed Dan Kunkle to the Board of Adjustment and approved a request from Fire Chief Gary Fox to temporarily use the Creamery Building for training purposes.

The Council also set another public hearing for October 8th in regards to the 7th Street Expansion Project and awarded a contract to Godberson-Smith Construction Company for the base bed of $652,226 for the South 7th Street Improvements Project, subject to Iowa Department of Transportation approval.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:35pm.
