Drought levels remain the same across the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, released this week by the National Climatic Data Center, there are still severe drought conditions in the southern half of Dallas County and extreme southeast corner of Guthrie County.  All of Greene County and the remainder of Dallas and Guthrie Counties continue to suffer from an extreme drought.

According to the National Weather Service, Perry has received 1.2 inches of rain so far this month.  Typical precipitation totals for September are around 3.1 inches.  Jefferson has received 1.9 inches of rain, they usually get just under three inches of rain in September.  And Guthrie Center has received 2 inches or rain so far, compared to their average monthly total of 3.38 inches.
