The Atlantic Trojans defeated the Perry Bluejays 41-6 Friday night in front of a large senior night crowd at Dewey Field.  The game marked the final home game for nine Perry seniors.   The game was scoreless until the 3:31 mark in the 2nd Quarter when Atlantic’s Jacob Dvorak scored the first of his 3 touchdowns on the night  scoring from 4 yards out to give the Trojans a 6-0 lead.  After a quick three and out by Perry, Atlantic marched it down the field in the final seconds as senior quarter Harrison Hoegel connected on a 20 yard touchdown pass to Kray Lukehart to give the Trojans a 14-0 lead at half.  The Atlantic defense made it hold.  The Trojans held the Bluejays to 28 yards total offense in the second.  Perry finished with 98 yards total offense for the game marking the second straight week the Bluejays have been held under 100 yards.  The only score from Perry came late in the 4th quarter when Nic Wilhelmi scooped up a fumble and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown.  The Perry offense has now went 8 quarters without scoring a point.

Sophomore quarterback Will Whiton had a tough night finishing 3-11 for 38 yards with 2 interceptions.  Both picks came from Chad Christiensen who now leads the district with 6 interceptions on the season.

Atlantic improves to 5-2 on the season and 2-2 in the district, while Perry has officially been eliminated from the playoffs at 2-5 and will travel to ADM next Friday night.  You can listen to the game on KDLS 1310 am.
