The Dallas County Conservation Board is hosting a special event this weekend that will inform you about what wild plants are safe to eat.
The Fall Wild Edibles program is a guided journey through the Kuehn Conservation Area, looking for wild edible plants. Participants will learn how to identify suitable plants, discuss what part is edible, when to harvest and how to prepare the plants. The group will then be able to try some of the plants and take home some new recipes.
The event takes place Saturday from 10-noon at the Kuehn Conservation Area. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. To sign up call the conservation board at 465-3577.
