The Stuart Library Foundation will kick off their first fundraising event by holding an auction at the Stuart Public Library Thursday night.

The Foundation’s vision of the library is that of an integral part of education, a center for community life and a catalyst for economic development.  The Foundation compliments – not replaces – city and county funding of libraries, and are pleased to include the Friends of the Stuart Library and their activities.

Stuart Public Library Director Sandi Pollard says the auction is open to the public and several items are currently on display at the library.  Some of the donated items to be auctioned off that night include original artwork, several theme baskets, a bistro set, membership to Pie A Month Club, a recliner, a Fancy Nancy Birthday Party, fly fishing, assorted baked goods, and a pontoon boat party for 8.

Attendees will be able to enjoy snacks while placing their bids on the various items.  Proceeds from the event will go to purchase large print books.
