The first season of Greene County High School football ended with a 44-7 loss in Alleman to North Polk on Wednesday night in a Class 2A first round playoff game. The Rams finished the season with four wins and six losses while NP improved to 7-3 and will face undefeated Kuemper Catholic in Carroll on Oct. 29 in the second round.
NP led 13-0 after one quarter and 31-0 at the half. The lone Greene County touchdown came late in the third quarter on a fourth down pass play covering 16 yards from senior quarterback Tory Beger to senior receiver Reed Ostrander.
NP senior Jacob Hadaway caught a pass of 20 yards for a TD and he returned a punt 42 yards for another score. NP junior Garrett Moeckley had two short scoring runs and junior Russell Greene caught a short pass and turned it into a touchdown play covering 48 yards.
