The Dallas County Hospital Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting Thursday.
At the meeting it was reported that September total revenue trailed the budget by 7.8% and expenses trailed by 4.4%. Therefore, coming to an adjusted operating margin of $68,936.
Last month’s inpatient occupancy was 14.5% lower than last year’s almost 19% and outpatient and emergency room visits also trailed 2011 margins.
Year to date, the hospital exceed the budget in the first quarter by 2.3%.
In other news, the Dallas County Hospital was recognized by the Iowa Donor Network for achievement in reaching a 100% appropriate requester rate for tissue donation in 2011. Variety – The Children’s Charity awarded the hospital foundation a $4,625 grant for special pediatric radiology equipment. Finally, the trustees were reminded of the Senior Health Insurance Information Program check-up event November 7th and Role Reversal Workshop on November 3rd.
