                                                October 22 thru 28, 2012

 

10/22   At 11:15 am, a deputy investigated and cleared a harassment complaint in Scranton between a mother and son

At 2:12 pm, a deputy responded to remove a dead deer from Danger Hill but as he pulled up it was being removed by a secondary road worker

At 6:52 pm, a deputy assisted with an unruly 10 year old in Churdan

At 7:39 pm, a deputy checked careless driving westbound 220th from X Avenue but the vehicle was not located

At 8:11 pm, Kevin S. Lingner, 41, of Perry was booked into the county jail serving an OWI 2nd sentence

At 9:11 pm, a deputy investigated and cleared a trespass complaint in Grand Junction after assisting with getting some property returned to the person who was at the residence

 

10/23   At 9:30 am, the sheriff investigated a harassment complaint in Scranton with the calling party being warned to cease making telephone calls to the complainant

At 12:24 pm, a deputy investigated a loud music complaint in Grand Junction

At 12:43 pm, a deputy was advised to check the report of a suspicious male going in and out of a cornfield at 140th Street and the bike trail. This was found to be in Guthrie County and they were advised

At 8:46 pm, a deputy checked the report of an injured deer along 220th east of J Avenue. The deputy located the deer which got up and ran away. While the deputy was there a semi struck and killed another deer crossing the highway

 

10/24   At 2:30 am, Shawn A. Ellsbury, 44, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after an arrest by Jefferson police for Public Intoxication 2nd offense, he was later released after pleading guilty to the offense

At 6:51 am, a deputy checked an unattended vehicle two miles north of 220th on U Avenue which was later removed by the owner

At 5:15 pm, a deputy checked careless driving westbound 220th from Jefferson but did not locate the vehicle

At 6:45 pm, a deputy investigated a property damage crash at T Avenue and 120th Street. Amber N. Schulze, 26, of Lake City was southbound on T Avenue in a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt when she struck a disc blade that was on the roadway which punctured her transmission pan causing an estimated $2000 in damages

 

10/25   At 6:09 am, a deputy checked the report of a possible stalled vehicle near Quint and 235th Street but it was not located

At 8:50 am, a deputy was advised by a park officer of a stray cat at Henderson Park

At 7:50 pm, Scott A. Warnke, 49, of Scranton was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a deputy on a warrant for Assault-Simple, charge filed by a deputy in connection with an incident in Scranton on 10/21, he was booked and released O/R per warrant

At 8:14 pm, a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in Scranton that was found to be unfounded

At 8:58 pm, a deputy assisted with an intoxicated subject in a house in Grand Junction who the owner wished to leave, arrangements were made for them to go to another location

At 10:16 pm, Rodney W. Butler, 47, of Scranton was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a deputy on a 30 days mittimus for Failure to Pay Child Support, remains held

 

10/26   At 5:42 am, a deputy investigated a property damage car/deer crash on I Avenue a half mile north of Churdan. Daniel G. Moreland, 36, of Emmetsburg struck the deer. Crash report is still pending.

At 6:07 am, a deputy investigated and cleared a harassment complaint in Grand Junction

At 7:38 am, a deputy checked on horses out in the 900 Block of Orchard Avenue but they were all in a pasture with an electric fence

At 10:34 am, Shelly J. Eschbach, 50, of Scranton was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a deputy on warrants for Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine and Receive, Transfer or Furnish a Precursor Substance for Unlawful Purposes, charges filed by a deputy in connection with an investigation from February in the Scranton area where multiple search warrants were served, remains held

At 12:00 pm, a deputy investigated an assault complaint at the East Greene High School that was investigated and cleared as unfounded

At 12:15 pm, a deputy checked careless driving eastbound 220th from Scranton, the sheriff, deputy and Jefferson police all located the vehicle with no violations noted, however, the deputy stopped her to check and the driver did admit to texting earlier

At 3:46 pm, a deputy checked an unoccupied vehicle on N Avenue south of 190th Street

At 5:40 pm, Danielle J. Ohm, 29, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail serving a Probation Violation sentence

At 6:07 pm, Ian P. Schaff, 32, of Scranton was booked into the county jail after turning himself in on warrants for Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Receive, Transfer or Furnish a Precursor Substance for Unlawful Purposes, Possession of Methamphetamine 2nd Offense, Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, charges filed by a deputy in connection with an investigation from February in the Scranton area where multiple search warrants were served. He was later released on bond

At 6:20 pm, a deputy checked on an illegally parked vehicle in Grand Junction. Vehicle was marked with a warning tag and will be towed after 48 hours if not removed

At 9:49 pm, Joseph R. Jabaay, 33, of Ames was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a deputy on a warrant for Probation Violation, Original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Prohibited Acts, later released on bond

At 9:59 pm, a deputy investigated and cleared a harassment and threat complaint in Grand Junction

At 10:31 pm, a deputy checked careless driving eastbound 220th from Granite but did not locate the vehicle

 

10/27   At 3:47 am, a deputy assisted a motorist who ran out of gas on 220th near Pioneer

At 11:48 am, a deputy picked up a stray white Great Pureness dog with no collar in the 2000 Block of 285th Street and took it to the PAWS shelter

At 12:14 pm, a deputy checked the report of three dogs running at large in Scranton that were possibly vicious, the dogs were located and the owner identified and warned

At 1:09 pm, a deputy was assisted by an Ogden PD officer who identified the driver of an eastbound vehicle the deputy had clocked at 82/55 while enroute to the Scranton call. The deputy cited the driver by mail

At 5:18 pm, a deputy assisted with cattle out on Q Avenue and 290th Street

At 6:40 pm, a deputy checked for a driver who was observed at Casey’s in Grand Junction having an Open Container of alcohol who left westbound on 220th, they were not located

At 7:43 pm, a deputy investigated a property damage car/deer crash in the 1600 Block of Quaker Avenue. Stephen E. Bishop, 44, of Carroll was northbound on Quaker Avenue in a 2003 Dodge Dakota pickup when he struck the deer causing an estimated $2500 in damages

At 9:21 pm, a deputy checked the report of a stalled vehicle east of Scranton on 220th Street. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested.

At 10:00 pm, Ryan D. Huechteman, 28, of Bettendorf was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a deputy for OWI 1st Offense, later released on bond

At 10:49 pm, a deputy checked the report of subjects possibly in the Scranton area whom were suspended to drive. One subject was located who was arrested on the below warrant.

At 11:14 pm, a deputy checked the report of a hitchhiker east of Grand Junction along 220th but they were not located

At 11:30 pm, Kelly L. Coe, 30, of Bayard was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a deputy on a Polk County warrant for Failure to Pay Child Support, remains held

 

10/28   At 1:46 am, a deputy checked the report of a stalled vehicle on N Avenue near 280th Street but they were just stopped using their cell phone

At 7:38 am, a deputy was advised of a suspicious vehicle parked in a farm drive in the 1100 Block of Eaton Avenue, but was busy with an arrest. The vehicle’s driver was thought to be hunting in the area.

At 7:42 am, a deputy checked the report of a vehicle sitting at 220th Street and R Avenue and arrested the driver for OWI

At 8:16 am, Anthony J. Peterson, 22, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a deputy for OWI 1st and Driving While Barred, later released O/R by magistrate

At 1:30 pm, Jesse J. Priest, 20, of Grand Junction was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a deputy on a warrant for Possession of Alcohol Underage, charge filed by a deputy in connection with an offense from 10/14 in Grand Junction. He was booked and released O/R per warrant.

At 2:14 pm, a deputy checked the report of small explosions in the 2000 Block of 250th Street and found it to be subjects target shooting with high powered rifles

At 2:39 pm, a deputy investigated the theft of electronic items from a residence in Grand Junction. Deputies later executed a search warrant in Grand Junction and recovered a WI game with several games and at another residence were given consent and recovered an Xbox 360 with games.

A deputy completed a property damage crash from 10/14 in Grand Junction where a fence at 301 W. Main Street was damaged by a hit and run driver. Corey M. Gohn, 18, of Grand Junction had been operating a 2002 Chevrolet Impala northbound on Hwy 144 when he lost control and drove through the fence causing an estimated $500 damage to the fence and $1500 to the vehicle. He was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.

At 3:11 pm, a deputy assisted Jefferson police with a medical call

At 3:28 pm, a deputy assisted a state conservation officer with checking for four wheelers on the river near 237th Street but they were not located

At 5:15 pm, a deputy checked the report of a fire in the 1100 Block of N Avenue and found it to be a controlled burn

At 6:33 pm, Edward E. Goff, 33, of Grand Junction was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a deputy on a Linn County warrant for Failure to Appear on an Assault charge, remains held

.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and   all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
