Water will show discoloration a few hours after flushing, but is safe to drink. The brownish color comes from iron in the water lines. It is suggested to wait on washing white clothes during the time your area of the town is being flushed, as the water has the ability to stain. If whites become discolored during the wash cycle, you may call the water department and get a special detergent that will remove the iron before you dry.
Customers may also experience low pressure during the flushings.
If you have any questions you can call City Hall at 386-3111 or the water department at 386-2611.
