The Perry Boys basketball team will open up their conference schedule tonight at 8:00 with a home matchup with Dallas Center Grimes. Perry is 1-0 after a 71-58 win on the road at the Woodward Academy Tuesday night. The Bluejays forced 34 Knight turnovers in the win. Sophomore guard Will Whiton set a Perry high school record with 9 steals in the game. Perry Head Coach Ned Menke talks about some of the surprises for him on opening night.
COM 5001 (AUDIO) In starting with the bad, I was disappointed with how many shots we left out there…we did not do a good job of finishing. We missed a lot of layups and easy buckets which could have put is in the mid 80’s for points. On a positive note, I was really impressed with our 1-2-2 full court press. We created numerous turnovers and Will, Ben and Shammond did a terrific job on the front side of it!”
The Bluejays and Mustangs will tip off around 8 tonight right here on Local Radio KDLS.
