The wait is finally over for the city of Jefferson.  There will be a ribbon-cutting event this Saturday at 11 AM at the Abraham Lincoln statue on the downtown city square.

The celebration will complete a seven-year project to replace curbs, sidewalks and lighting in the downtown area.

Along with the ribbon-cutting, the city of Jefferson wants to remind the public that stop signs around its town square intersections have been put back to their original locations.  As residents get used to the permanent locations, stop signs will be left in the middle of the intersections temporarily.
