Greene County won twice in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference wrestling on Thursday night in Maxwell against CMB and Saydel (Des Moines). The Rams met the host Raiders in round one and were 61-9 winners. They followed that with a 54-15 victory in round two vs. the Eagles of Saydel. Without forfeits the Rams only lost three matches on the night. Undefeated Jeremy Scheuermann (Sharmin) at 145 and Aaron Beaman at 220 both improved to 14-o on the season with a pair of falls. Dylan Forkner at 126 improved to 13-1 with a fall vs. CMB and a narrow 4-2 decision over Saydel sophomore Austin Moen, who lost for just the second time. Other Rams who won twice on Thursday were Jacob Challen (113), Able Yoder (120), Jordan Challen (132), J. C. Weitl (Why-tl) 152, Keydon Pollock (160), and Jamie Theulen (Thoo-len) (182). Daric Whipple (138), Cris Paniagua (170), and Rene (Ra-nay) Guzman (Gooz-man) (285) each went 1-1 on the night.
The Greene County victories put them at 11-3 overall in dual meets and 4-0 in the conference. The Rams now have a 15-match Heart of Iowa Conference winning streak dating back to the 2010-11 season.
The Rams will wrestle on Saturday at the Roland-Story Norsemen Invitational in Story City.
