The Bell Tower Festival Committee will meet tonight at the city council chambers in Jefferson.

The main topic at tonight’s meeting will be the logo design and the winner.  Committee Chair Pete Russell says they are still accepting designs until 5pm tonight.  This year’s logo must include the Bell Tower, Lincoln Highway Sign with the colors red, white and blue and the official name “Bell Tower Celebrates Lincoln Highway Centennial”.  The contest is open to everyone and the winner will receive $200 in cash.

After the winner’s name is announced during the committee meeting at 5:30pm, that winning logo will appear on everything that has to do with the festival.  Russell says it will be on items like t-shirts, flyers, all press releases and it will be featured at the art show during the festival in the basement of the Sierra Theatre.

Other items on the agenda are updates from departments, distributing sponsorship letters to businesses and organizations as well as inviting the public who want to put on an activity during the festival be there tonight to confirm what they want to do and when they want to do it.

Russell states that she is still looking for volunteers to chair other committees like logistics, which is making sure there are groups of people to help set up various events and handle tear down responsibilities and a chair for the plaza stage events.  The meeting begins at 5:30pm and is open to the public.
