Creston IowaWORKS is hosting a job fair Friday, January 18th, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Panora Cargill facility 500 SE Third Street. This job fair is designed for Cargill employees who will be looking for work this spring and is not open to the public.
It was announced last November that Cargill’s Kitchen Solutions in Panora is closing it’s doors and approximately 50 employees will find themselves out of work soon. Creston IowaWORKS Business Service Specialist Elizabeth Waigand points out that these 50 employees have already demonstrated they possess a strong work ethic while being employed with Cargill and would be assets to any business looking to hire in the near future. Their history is there; all they need would be training to fit within the company that hires them stated Waigand..
Waigand says she hears from businesses that they sometimes find it difficult to find applicants for the positions open within their companies. By participating in this job fair, they might find exactly what they’re looking for.
Among the companies that have confirmed they will be represented at the job fair are Rose Acres, Old Castle, AMVC Management, Louis d Reyfus, Accusteel, DES, Travel Simplified, Abilities Unlimited, Iowa Spring, Bohlmann & Sons Sanitation, Scranton Manufacturing, St Gregory’s and Manpower.
