The Perry Jayettes will return home tonight after a four game roadswing when they host the Torreadors of Boone in a 6:00 contest. The Jayettes are coming off a hard fought 64-60 victory over Carroll on Tuesday night. The win improved Perry to 7-2 in the conference, just one game back of Dallas Center Grimes. Perry junior Julie Dew talks about how the team was able to bounce back from the DCG loss thanks to great work and a no panic approach.
“I love our team. We work hard, we enjoy each other’s company and we really try to bring everyone’s spirits up. It’s a great group to be around and even when we lose, I never sense a real panic..its like lets get back to work and fix what is broken and that’s what we did with Carroll.”
With the win against Carroll, Perry Head Coach Mike Long picked up career win number 494, just 6 wins away from the prestigious 500 win club.
“I have known Coach Long for a long time. He is so smart when it comes to basketball. I just try to work hard for him each and every day and make him proud of my work.”
You can listen to Perry and Boone tonight on KDLS beginning with the Perry HyVee pregame show at 5:45.
