The Jefferson Public Library will be hosting a Greene County trivia contest this Saturday.

Jefferson resident and recently retired Officer in Charge of the Rippey Post Office Denny Lautner will be the facilitator of the contest.  He will be asking between 25-40 trivia questions in 45 minutes.  The questions relate to random Greene County facts and some from the winter adult reading program “Read Iowa” that began earlier this year.  After each question is read, participants are given a few seconds to answer, then each question will be corrected and discussed afterwards.

Library Director Jane Millard says that Lautner is a “walking history book”.  She points out that Lautner does a trivia contest during the county fair in the summer and she jokes that there might be questions that even he may not know.

Prizes will be given with some donated from the Chamber of Commerce.  The trivia contest will be tomorrow from 10-11am in the basement of the Jefferson Library.  The public is invited to attend.
