Greene County head wrestling coach Mark Sawhill tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the annual Awards night will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 26. The event will be in the middle school gym in Jefferson starting at 6 p.m. with a potluck dinner and awards to follow. Coach Sawhill and his staff will present letters and other awards to members of the squad. The public is invited.

The Rams had a successful 2012-13 season and won both the dual meet and tournament titles in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference for the second year in a row. The team also went 19-5 in dual meets and set a program record for the most dual meet wins in a season. Eight Rams qualified for the district tournament and three advanced to the Class 2A State tournament where junior Jeremy Scheuermann placed eighth at 145 lbs. Sophomore Jordan Challen at 132 and senior Aaron Beaman at 220 lbs. were also State tournament qualifiers.
