Jefferson Telecom gives back through Relay For Life.
With Relay for Life of Greene County’s event a couple of months away, team fundraising ideas and projects are underway.
Jefferson Telecom has already completed one event and is currently providing another donation opportunity with a “kiss a pig” contest. Spokesperson Mary Jo Koch says there are nine participants including (L-R) Fire Chief Randy Love, City Administrator Mike Palmer, Jefferson Telecom employee Janelle Wright, Police Chief Dave Morlan, Mayor Craig Berry, Greene County Supervisor Chair Jon Muir, Sheriff Steve Haupert, Greene County Medical Center CEO Carl Behne and City Councilman Larry Teeples (not pictured).
There will be jars for each contestant at Jefferson Telecom from now until March 29th. The person that ends up with the most money will get to kiss a pig at a ceremony on April 1st at the Bell Tower.
Koch comments that she got the idea from an event she attended.
“I had seen where they did a bake sale and had a free will donation and they also had a ‘kiss a pig for a cause’. And I thought what better way to raise money than to use Jefferson’s finest employers and employees to make an impact and raise money for a good cause.”
She states that during the bake sale on February 14th and 15th, they raised over $520 and she’s hoping to raise over $1,000 with the kiss a pig contest.
