All of the boys’ basketball teams from the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference have completed their seasons, so all-conference selections may be announced. Greene County High School did not have any first team selections. Senior Justin Ostrander was on the second team and seniors Reed Ostrander and Tory Beger were on the honorable mention list. Greene County went 8-14 overall and placed seventh in the 10-team conference with six wins and 12 losses. Justin Ostrander, the 6′ 8″ center for the Rams, led the conference in blocked shots. He also averaged 15.5 points and more than seven rebounds a game. Reed Ostrander was fifth among conference players in scoring at 16.4 points and second in rebounds per game at 8.6. Both made 50 percent or more of their shots from the field. Beger was the Rams’ point guard. He scored more than five points per game.

Seniors Ryan Skaar of Roland-Story (Story City) and Tate Handsaker of Nevada were unanimous first team selections. Others on the first team are Brooke  Thompson of Nevada, Jacob Hadaway of North Polk (Alleman), Jordan Knock of Gilbert, John Hegland of South Hamilton (Jewell), Vaughn Wilson of Colfax-Mingo, and Dillon Bruxvoordt of league champion PCM (Monroe). Bruxvoordt is a junior and the others are seniors.

Joining Justin Ostrander on the second all-conference team are Michael Neff and Ethan Kain of PCM, Hunter Brunsvold and Russell Greene of North Polk, Bryce Kemp of CMB (Baxter), Alex Gustafson of Saydel (Des Moines), and Zach Anderson of Nevada. Greene and Gustafson are juniors and Kemp is a sophomore.
