The Dallas County Conservation Board is starting a new tradition this year around Easter time.
A spring egg hunt will be held Saturday, March 30th at the Voas Nature Area in Minburn.
It’s not your typical Easter egg hunt where participants look for plastic eggs filled with candy and prizes, instead this hunt looks for wild eggs. Attendees will look in bird boxes, under leaf piles, in rotting logs, wetlands and dark corners for eggs produced by wild animals. Conservation staff will also teach participants about when and why animals lay eggs and how they develop while exploring the nature area.
The program is weather dependent and those planning to join in should dress appropriately.
Preregistration for the free program is required and space is limited. For more information or to sign up call 465-3577.
